Questions About Aircraft Ownership And Acquisition

What Are The Various Types Of Aircraft Ownership?

There is Full Aircraft Ownership, Partnerships, and Fractionals. For individuals or companies flying 200 hours per year or more, full ownership is justified. If flying less, then block charter may be a better choice. Fractional Companies will always be higher on a per hour basis.

Special Services provides free detailed consulations on the best option for you or your business. We only ask that you give us a fair chance at your business in return. Sign-up to receive our free eCourse – “Aviation Orientation Course” for a detailed look into the options within private aviation.

Who Should Own An Airplane?

Individuals, large businesses, and small businesses alike all make up those that own and utilize aircraft.

Generally, those that fly at least 200 hours per year are good candidates for some form of ownership. If you’re right at 200 hours, then a leaseback on charter is a good fit to provide revenue on the airplane when it’s not being used. If you’re flying more than this, then full ownership without a leaseback can be justified since there would be limited time to use the aircraft for revenue. Not sure how to judge what your utilization would be? Send us your itenary over the last 12 months, and we’ll be glad to do the leg work for you.

What Is SSC’s Role In The Acquisition Process?

After an initial consulation, SSC will help identify, evaluate, and ultimately purchase the right aircraft for your needs. We have the expertise to walk you through every step of the process.
